Visiting the grave of my great uncle; Joseph Wilkins,  Rank: Private 4165  Regiment: Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry, 2/1 Bucks Battalion. Who Died 30/11/1916 Age 20.  Grave Ref VII A. 30. Son of Alfred and Ann Wilkins, of Gt. Missenden Bucks.  Joseph joind the army early on in the war. "Soon after the call was made." Contay is a tiny village between Amiens and Arras, the cemetery is in a peaceful location witch lies on the road to Franvillers D23. Day trip from Rimini with my daughter, The old town  'San Marino' is  sat on top of Mount Titano 750 meters and can be seen from Rimini, Cable car (Image Tilt & Shift) Restaurant with panoramic views

Jodie my daughter suggested meeting me here. Is internationally renowned for its beaches and is mainly Italians who come here and makes it more interesting for tourists coming from abroad.  The campsite in Ribabella also was mainly Italians and was relaxed and friendly. Private Italian beach with umbrellas and sunbeds   Seafood and pasta Rimini old town is a cycling City, more people on bicycles than walking. Market day

I don't do cities, but Florence is bella. To hot and too many tourists, but my campsite is on a hill looking over the city, nice to have a beer and watch the sunset. Well it’s the first time I have travelled in a   campervan   and it’s the 3 rd   time travelling on my own. It’s good that I like my own company, but it would have been good to share the experience. I hope my photos have done that! It’s now been 2 months since I started this road trip, I had told everyone before I left that I will be gone for 2 months. But Europe is big and there is a lot to see! Spain has been amazing and has the most to offer, especially Andalucía and the scenic drive of the sierras with the pretty towns of Mula, Socovos, Ferez, Elche de la Sierra and the drive down to Aldea Mesones Molinicos was amazing. And I nearly forgot the drive on the N340a from Tabernas to Sorbas, taken in the mini Hollywood where they made spaghetti western filming locations .  I knew Spain was going to be a blast, but I found a lot more interesting places than I had imagined. On the Italian Riviera approximately 56 kilometers south of Genoa. Very  relaxed and a little low key but there is something for everyone.   Bay of Silence 

I have just  arrived  in Italy, driving  from France. My Dad was in Italy during the Second World War and I would like to visit the places where he told me his war stories, when I was a child. I have already been to Naples where he told me he saw Mount Vesuvius erupt in March/ April 1944 and that the Americans flew over and dropped bombs into the creator!!!! He was also in Cortina in the Dolomites, Casino transporting tanks to the front line and looking at the photo below he was in Florence. As it looks like The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore in the background. He also had postcards he brought in Rome .
